Pianist and composer Daniel Meron is proud to announce the July 17th, 2026 release of Live at The Sound Room, a dynamic representation of his trio in peak form. Recorded in Oakland, CA, the album captures the Daniel Meron Trio towards the conclusion of their 2025 California tour. Having performed the repertoire over several consecutive nights, Meron, bassist Pablo Menares, and drummer Jimmy Macbride reached a profound connection—both to each other and to the heart of the compositions. Though documented almost by chance, the recording preserves an exceptional performance defined by a spirit of collective exploration.
Meron (Israel), Menares (Chile) and Macbride (US) have all been fixtures of the New York City jazz scene for over 15 years and have collaborated in the past, however this specific trio formed in 2024. Meron sought to explore his original music through the very elements that first drew him to jazz: interplay, self-expression, and spontaneity. In Menares and Macbride, he found the ideal partners to realize that vision.
Born in Israel to a family of Egyptian and Syrian descent and shaped by nearly two decades in the New York City jazz ecosystem, Daniel creates melodic modern jazz rich with Middle Eastern and Latin American influences. Driven by evocative melodies and pulsating rhythms, Meron’s compositions create a democratic space for each musician to lead. This balance is striking across both arranged and improvised passages, resulting in music that is as exhilarating as it is joyful. Spanning 17 years of his creative output, Live at The Sound Room is a definitive look into Meron’s songbook and his sophisticated approach to the modern piano trio.
